Always first on the list is cheap flights, they are probably the biggest expense on any trip. Any travel websites such as cheapflights, travelocity, hotwire etc must search in 'realtime' which is a difficult thing for any search engine to do. So of course these searches don't always yield the cheapest flights. Below is a step by step guide to get the cheapest flights.
1. Search student travel sites first, good ones are studentuniverse and in Ireland usit and go4less. These usually have some of the cheapest flights don't book yet and take down the cheapest flights details.
2. Next go to the usual search engines such as cheapflights which I recommend for this particular guide. You need to search specific dates in step one and two but that will change next. Again take down the details of the cheapest flights you find on this website.
3. Finally go to the website of the Airline carrier that yielded the cheapest tickets. On this site you can search more up to date flights and also search over a number of dates. Make the search over as many dates as possible. This will be the cheapest flight you will be able to find for the required dates. A good site to use is skyscanner which can tell you how expensive it gets over certain dates. Use this to choose cheap dates and then repeat steps 1 to 3.
